5 Must-Have Tools for Small Business Owners: Boost Efficiency and Productivity

Imagine being a small business owner juggling a million tasks at once. From managing projects to creating marketing materials, it can feel overwhelming. In this post, I'll share some essential digital tools that have been game-changers for me and countless other small business owners.


1. Asana

One of my favourite tools, Asana is a fantastic time management tool which allows you to build workflows and content calendars.


Benefits of using Asana:


* Task management: Create and assign tasks, set due dates, and track progress.

* Team collaboration: Collaborate with your team in real time, share files, and communicate effectively.

* Project planning: Visualise your projects with Kanban boards, timelines, and calendars.

* Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and workflows to save time.


The free version is great to get started with but can be upgraded to include AI and other features to help teams succeed.


Personally, I have been using Asana for years in both corporate positions as well as in my RoamBlogger business. The content calendar is easy to use for marketing purposes, there's an app I can access on the go, and there's a cute little animation which appears when you complete a task which provides a lovely bit of dopamine.

2. Canva

Canva is an essential tool for any small business looking to create professional-quality visuals without the need for advanced design skills. With its drag-and-drop interface and a vast library of templates, Canva makes it easy to design everything from social media graphics to presentations and branding materials.

At The RoamBlogger, I use Canva to create a variety of images for blog posts. I love it because it's intuitive and easy to manage. All of my designs are in the cloud and not saved to my computer (unless I want them to be) so it saves space on my hard drive.
