Growing Pains Aren't Just for Kids

Growing up is hard, no matter your age. When we're young, we're actively encouraged to experiment, to explore different friendships, and to embrace change. It's okay to move from place to place to find ourselves, to bounce from job to job. Society pretty much gives us a free pass for figuring things out.

But what society doesn't really teach us is how to keep doing that into adulthood. How do we move on from toxic environments, toxic people, or even just people we've simply outgrown? The guidance seems to dry up, leaving us feeling a bit adrift.

Suddenly, every day can feel like a "nothing" day. The same routines, the same faces, the same tasks. We yearn for those one or two weeks a year where we can fly away somewhere warm, experience something different, chase a new adventure. The possibilities of escape feel incredibly enticing.

What if we could reintroduce some of that teenage or early twenties mentality back into our everyday lives? What if we could shake things up with the click of a finger, try something genuinely different?

Now, I'm not talking about massive, life-altering shifts. I'm not, by any means, saying we should up and move halfway across the world for something new and exciting (unless you want to, of course!). What I am talking about is cultivating a "don't give a damn" attitude when it comes to walking away from people who genuinely couldn't care less about you. I'm talking about taking a chance on something new – joining a group, trying a new exercise class, and opening ourselves up to fresh friendships and unexpected encounters.

I'm talking about picking up that new hobby, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I'm talking about consciously spending more time with the people who truly add value to your life, rather than those who just suck the energy right out of you.

Ultimately, I'm talking about building that confidence back up, so you can truly feel the force of your full potential.

You might feel stuck right now, and that's okay. But remember, changing your circumstances, working towards something you genuinely want, that's exciting! Being around the right people makes you happy. Being in the right environment makes you feel safe, content, and ready to thrive. It's never too late to start exploring, experimenting, and growing again.

Until next time.
